What are we looking for? Knowledge of performing work related to overall warehousing plans and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of the physical receipt, custody, and distribution of equipment. Experience in phases of equipment management, to include business administration, accounting procedures, equipment preventative maintenance schedules and personnel supervision. Knowledge of repair and maintenance of a variety of recreation equipment is preferred. Ability to acquire a valid government vehicle operator's license to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 pounds. A valid driver's license is required.
What to Expect Directs daily work requirements, methods, and procedures to ensure completion in a timely manner. Ensures rolling stock are mechanically sound and fit for use on roads; ensures rolling stock is connected properly to patrons' vehicles, including proper wiring and that the safety features are utilized correctly; responsible for overseeing the issuance, reception, and regularly scheduled maintenance of a variety of recreation equipment and accessories to include but not limited to; lawn and garden equipment, trailers used for moving and hauling cars, grills, log splitters, inflatables, generators, fly tents and backyard games. Performs warehousing activities including receiving, storing, and shipping a variety of materials and equipment. Prepares daily reports and records of materials received or issued from the warehouse as required. May operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 pounds. May operate and perform preventive maintenance for materials handling equipment. Receives, issues, and stores warehouses materials or equipment in accordance with established procedures and operating requirements. Works with independence in determining sequences of loading and unloading, developing space utilization plans, and implementing movement of materials, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and ready for issuance. Stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. Work may be performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. May work in varied weather on open decks. Work is dirty, dusty, and greasy. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls and injury from falling stock, mechanical conveyor systems or other materials handling equipment. Work may require protective clothing. May perform Materials Handler duties as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
