One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is described as: Experience providing support for financial/accounting systems; applying and advising on financial system policies and procedures; performing extensive business process analysis through evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations. Compiling financial management business processes from various sources to ensuring their accuracy and efficiency as it pertains to financial legislation and operational policies and procedures surrounding automated financial systems. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Serves as a Financial Specialist responsible for coordinating functional and technical initiatives in support of Audit Readiness and sustainment of missions supported as part of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
Delivers mission support to agency management through issuance of Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) guidance and supporting Federal Information Systems Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) controls.
Provides design standardization to financial system controls in order to ensuring major system readiness efforts are aligned with scheduled project plans.
Identifies financial systems requirements necessary for the development of assigned systems interfaces or integration with other financial and non-financial systems.
Participates in the preparation of functional specifications and other documentation to be used by data systems analysts, end users of the system and information technology specialists.
Participates in the preparation of technological and economic feasibility studies, such as economic analyses, for existing or potential new systems for use in making major management decisions.
Leads efforts to further and satisfy Audit Readiness objectives.
