Job Description:
You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN of NAV DOSIMETRY CENTER BETHESDA. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.
GS-09- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience mentoring lower graded technicians and communicating with clients. Experience processing radiation dosimetric devices, calibrating dosimetry readers and performing complex maintenance. Experience utilizing dosimetry principles, analyzing data and identifying errors. GS-08- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience operating dosimetry equipment and performing maintenance on equipment. Experience working and communicating with clients. Experience applying dosimetry principles, analyzing data and identifying errors. You will qualify and act as a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) Signatory.
You will be responsible for the technical and calibration requirements of Dosimetry Readers.
You will be responsible for daily, monthly and emergency maintenance of dosimeters readers and dosimeters.
You will process a great deal of analytical skills and experience to complete accurate and official dose records.
