What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Communication and/or degree in related field OR combination of equivalent education and experience OR four years appropriate experience that demonstrates the skills to develop a training and outreach plan which includes coordinating awareness, education and resources, and linking eligible exceptional family members and their families with a variety of support services and resources. Skill to conduct needs assessments, interviews, presentations, training sessions and coordinate resources. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; ability to develop quality training; ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all levels of employees and command, both inside and outside the organization; knowledge of military structure and protocol; ability to exercise initiative in resolving problems, rendering decisions, and carrying out revisions to plans; ability to supervise, facilitate, run meetings, and to take charge and direct an event when necessary; ability to analyze data and present logical conclusions and recommendations; ability to utilize word processing and desktop publishing software. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
What to Expect Delivers and coordinates delivery of training for EFMP staff, Marines, their families, volunteer personnel and representatives of installation and community services on a variety of topics such as Individualized Family Support Plans, Individualized Education Programs and Extended Health Care Options to educate, recognize, identify and refer members to appropriate services for assessment and counseling. Develops the outreach program plan by promoting awareness and education among Marines and leadership of the EFMP on the installation by conducting briefings and educational campaigns. Seeks out opportunities to provide EFMP information at unit functions, briefings, family days, MCCS functions and public and DoD schools. Distributes and displays marketing and informational material in strategic locations such as medical facilities, TriCare service centers, Marine and Family Services Centers and other appropriate locations aboard the installation to ensure maximum publicity of program resources. Develops website content and writes articles for newspapers and newsletters. Performs administrative functions associated with the training, education and outreach program plan. Collects, analyses and maintains training, education and outreach materials such as: listings of services and resources, information on the command outreach concept and plan, reports, and surveys. Identifies program resource requirements and provides budget input for manpower, supplies, and equipment. Accesses the EFMP case management software system to gather information. Manages distribution and movement of case information to ensure confidentiality and security. Handles sensitive information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
