Job Description:
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Integrated Combat System (ICS) Weapon System Engineering Branch, in the Combat Systems Test and Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer analyzing and evaluating operational failures and deficiencies in the design of combat systems by testing and evaluation in order to recommend solutions for the sustainment of weapons systems. You will serve as an Aegis Weapon System (AWS) element and/or radar engineer.
You will perform independent engineering research into identified system/equipment/integration issues and develop actionable plans to mitigate future occurrences.
You will perform detailed engineering analysis encompassing combat system hardware and software upgrades.
You will provide scientific, technical, and professional engineering guidance, and acquisition advice on all aspects of the assigned program area.
You will review system design, maintainability, and operational suitability of the system to assess required design changes.
You will identify, develop, and formulate solutions to combat system problems.
