The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as: * Ability to assist in repair and maintain the VLF antenna network; annual inspection programs, change oil in gear boxes, grease sheaves on top of towers, etc. *Ability to climb up to 980 feet in height while carrying his trade tools. *Ability to use small hand tools, power assist equipment, and motor vehicle equipment. *Ability to perform work on the towers where only spot checks of work accomplishment will be made due to the difficulty of climbing towers. You will serve as an ANTENNA MECHANIC HELPER, TELECOMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT in Cutler, ME.
You will help repair and maintain the over 50 million dollars VIF antenna network consisting of 26 800 to 980 foot steel towers.
You will help in continuous visual inspection looking for cables out of plane, structural damage, and electrical wiring.
You will help in inspecting and repairing guy anchor grounds, checking the guy tension, and checking tower profile.
You will help clean and coat the 624 guys ranging from 1 to 3 1/8 inch diameter, which support the 26 tall towers.
