Job Description:

You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing and supervising a team of highly technical subordinates. Experience evaluating work performance of subordinates and providing advice counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Experience performing technical and professional engineering work involving engineering aspects of major weapons systems or programs of equivalent importance and complexity. Experience in Naval Fleet operations, to include the maintenance techniques and policies. Experience in scheduling and coordinating Fleet maintenance in a multitude of locations. You will perform a full range of supervisory responsibilities for a staff of personnel within Logistics to include preparing schedules for completion of work.
You will analyze and evaluate present and future program/project engineering requirements.
You will recommend optimum technical and economic tradeoffs to integrate existing subsystems, components, assemblies, parts, and associated equipment.
You will consult with program/project managers, their staff, and other top officials.
You will plan and conduct investigations, analyses, design modifications of subsystems, and new equipment.
You will provide technical advice to field activities regarding unusually difficult or controversial matters, such as modifying systems to meet new and demanding performance requirements.
You will represent the command in reaching engineering compromises and agreements with engineers of other organizations and contractors, and devise methods and procedures,
