You will serve as an ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC TRAINING LEADER in the PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. You will evaluate, analyze and develop an apprentice program for apprentices in the Electronics Industrial Control trade.
You will teach the theories of the trade at the apprentice school for 8 to 96 PSNS apprentices, and may also teach trade theory to Keyport and Trident apprentices.
You will counsel apprentices with disciplinary, person and academic problems.
You will coordinate the work experience training in the shop and/or aboard ships.
You will analyze the trade and evaluate the trade work areas to develop the parent shops Apprentice Training Plan, to ensure maximum classroom training and set a timetable for maximum work experience training.
You will prepare daily lesson plans and develop training aids such as: handouts, transparencies, video tapes, slides, etc. with which to teach the theories of the trade and related drawing requirements at the apprentice school.
You will ensure that the apprentice training program incorporates maximum trade work experience and classroom training.
You will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing apprentice records for coordinating work experience to the maximum good of production and keeping the guidelines set down by the apprentice training plan.
