About the Position: This is a Review Appraiser, GS-1171-13 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District. The location is Fort Worth, TX. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyzing data on properties concerning planning, zoning, utilities, taxes, or lease fees for appraisals; AND 2) Preparing narrative appraisal reports which include supportive data or technical analysis; AND 3) Reviewing properties by the income, cost, or comparison methods for appraisals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Real Estate Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Appraise the more complex types of property or those properties involving controversies and specific estates in property requiring unconventional appraisal techniques.
Prepare narrative appraisal reports which are compliant with the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisition and include extensive supportive data and technical analysis results.
Appraise properties that may involve controversial acquisitions, whose values may have significant impact on the economy of a community, impact on the budget of an agency, state or local entity, or which may involve potential public scrutiny.
Studies completed appraisal reports submitted for review including all supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with District and Corps of Engineers policies and procedures.
