GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing 911 calls of incoming fire alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 2) Dispatching emergency services to the scene of emergencies based on the capacity of the personnel and apparatus being dispatched; 3) Providing information and initiating directions to incoming callers (i.e., Cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR], the Heimlich maneuver, etc.). NOTE: All experience must be demonstrated in your resume. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating electronic computer-based systems for emergency (Police, Fire, and/or EMS) dispatching management; 2) Operating multiple equipment/systems (i.e., Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, alarm systems, dispatch recording devices, multi-channel radios) during emergency situations; and 3) Disseminating information from incoming callers during emergency situations. NOTE: All experience must be demonstrated in your resume. You will answer emergency line phone calls to determine the type of emergency response.
You will perform crisis intervention with distraught emergency callers during high risk situations until appropriate emergency first responders arrive on the scene.
You will use a dispatching software program to verify data is entered as required by the command.
You will monitor the status of dispatched units and assign additional resources as requested to scene of emergency.
