You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR in the DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Review work in progress and upon completion to assure standards of quality and quantity are met; 2) Planning, coordinating, assigning, and directing work of the work center to prevent delays; 3) Interpret circuit diagrams, National Electric Codes, electrical blueprints, schematics, and identify components and symbols and 4) Inputting and maintaining reports in Maximo or other computer software systems. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. You will plan and direct Low-Voltage Electrician crew work requirements.
You will develop metrics to determine and implement process change initiatives, identify performance issues and improve productivity.
You will attend meetings concerning requirements, specifications, and technical matters relating to assigned work, and recommend new methods, material or equipment for expediting and improving work execution.
You will assign work to subordinates either orally, by providing written instructions, or electronically through the Maximo work management system.
You will train subordinates in work methods and procedures in proper use of tools, equipment, safety regulation and other Federal Government policies.
You will Inspect work in progress to ensure productivity, efficiency, economy and safety of operations.
