This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) instructing rated and non-rated pilots in maintenance test flight procedures in the UH-60 helicopter; (2) instructing and evaluating pilots in basic and advanced test flight task such as maneuvers, aircraft systems and limitations for the UH-60; (3) conducting classroom instruction concerning the UH-60 aircraft systems and operating procedures; and (4) monitoring standardization requirements, recommend changes in lesson plans, program of instruction, training methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. Operates the UH-60 Helicopter while instructing and evaluating the copilot.
Conducts continuation training of other Maintenance Instructors to ensure currency and proficiency.
Conducts classroom instruction on all aspects of the UH-60 Helicopter.
Instruct and evaluate classroom portions of the Maintenance Test Pilot Course (MTPC) in accordance with Course Management Plans (CMP).
Instruct and evaluate aviation students on pre-flight through post flight proficiency in the UH-60 Helicopter.
