Job Description:

The Primary Purpose of the Position: To ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics. This position is located in the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of the Logistics Service in VA North Texas Health Care System and supported catchment area.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/18/2025. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: TECHNICAL COMPETENCE: Provides hospital facility with supplies and material including.; CUSTOMER SERVICE: Works with customers to resolve supply management issues.; TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION: Uses computerized systems to assist with inventory management/data.; ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Reviews inventory and monitors expiration dates, rotates inventory, and refills supplies.; and REASONING: Resolves issues, interprets policies, recommend revisions and monitors stock for low levels. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond an associates degree. Major Duties include but are limited to: Supply Distribution Maintains stock at primary and secondary inventory locations for all clinical and administrative services. This involves pulling stock inventory and material from main inventory for delivery; replenishing stock inventory; interacting with clinical and administrative customers to ensure issues and needs are identified and either resolved or escalated to supervisors or Inventory Management Specialists as needed. Monitors expiration dates, rotates sock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates. Supports managers in checking inventory for stock identified for recalled items and hazard alerts; ensures critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled, resolving deviations when possible, and escalating significant deviations to the Inventory Management Specialists. Inventory Control - Receiving Receives supplies and material into the VA Health Care System and supported catchment area. unpacks/uncrates supplies from shipping cartons; properly stores supplies and material in main/primary inventory areas. Stores items in accordance with established guidelines, utilizing a computerized inventory system to ensure sterility and integrity of the supplies and material. Work Schedule: Rotational Shifts: 7:30am to 4:00pm; or 3:30pm - 12:00am; or 12:00am to 8:30am Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
