Job Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is a Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for Naval Hospital Beaufort, S.C. Hours of work would be from 07:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in private office. Incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant) Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
Provide treatment via targeted and efficient appointments for initial and follow-up visits.
Participate in quality assurance activities.
Serve as the authority on primary care psychology for the clinic.
Educate clinic staff on the principles of primary care behavioral health via trainings and briefings.
Monitor, evaluate, and approve use of community resources.
Develop treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients.
Evaluate appropriateness of treatment goals.
