Job Description:
As an experienced Monitoring Tools Engineer to join the EET Observability & Telemetry team, you will be the technical expert for specific core monitoring tools and work directly with our application production support and application development partners to ensure the proper installation, setting of thresholds and dashboard configuration. You'll be working with industry-leading products, you will experience how you can be a game-changer, enabling applications to have less downtime than ever before.
Host demos, overviews, and training of the monitoring tools for adoption across teams, preparing related materials to support sessions and adoption of tools
Partner with the Production support teams/Engineering teams and assist in configuration of monitoring events/dashboards to maximize the potential and use of monitoring tool
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring Tools Engineer needed to support the Bank wide monitoring efforts.
Tools engineers are needed to further enhance the current level of monitoring and operational procedures.
Resources would be responsible for making sure monitoring tools are installed and configured with correct thresholds and dashboards.
Recommends the appropriate monitoring capabilities in support of business process and is responsible for delivery of aligned capabilities across critical business applications.
Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; providing leadership in the execution of aligned as a team member or as an individual contributor.
Required Skills:
Several years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
Individual will need to be proficient in the support of Splunk & Dynatrace including the deployment, instrumentation and leveraging the tool
Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
Proven experience in programming languages (Java and or .NET)
Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting a multitude of products (Webserver, Middleware, Database, etc.)
Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels is required of this role
A self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills
A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality
Desired Skills:
Prior Bank of America work experience
Proven experience with one or more supporting monitoring tools such as – Dynatrace, Splunk Sitescope Catchpoint
SA or DBA or Middleware Experience preferred
