To qualify for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Implements/directs the implementation of protective measures to harden network against attack, including intrusion detection and prevention signatures, policies, and processes. Manages, develops and enforces cyber security (CS) standard methods and procedures for executing cyber defense (CyDef) support functions. Expertise in IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices; mission and programs, IT infrastructure; analysis principles and methods; new and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends; analytical methods and practices. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Serves as a Branch Chief, with responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the activities of subordinate information technology (IT) specialists.
Coordinate and create directives and instructions to implement new DOD and Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) directives throughout the agency.
Orchestrate the identification and remediation of complex technical vulnerabilities within DLA’s computing environment through supervision and direction of team leads and subordinate staff.
Assist cyber incident handling analysts in identifying and correcting vulnerabilities in DLA’s computer networks.
Supervise staff performing cybersecurity defense services and oversee the delivery of the enterprise-level cybersecurity defense management program.
Serve as a Contracting Officer Technical representative (COTR) and provides guidance to subordinates who may serve as COTRs.
