Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST within NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE at Gulfport, MS.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying extensive knowledge of supply principles, concepts, and methodologies including inventory management, storage/warehouse management, quality control, and material management in support of a supply program. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Analyzing data to recommend the best improvement or solutions for future operations; 2) Resolving difficult issues and problems in the assigned area of responsibility involving supply processes, work methods, supply data management, and day-to-day operational procedures; 3) Providing direction to subordinates coordinating both internal and external procedures and operations; 4) Utilizing a broad range of computer applications, including supply databases, to perform inventory management functions and input budget and manpower requirements; 5) Planning and executing budget and funding requirements to support operations; and 6) Interpreting regulations, guidance, and instructions and making decisions based on the intent of the guidance given. You will direct, coordinate, and administer support for daily logistics and supply systems operations.
You will prepare budget forecasting/input for the department operating budget.
You will ensure the most efficient and effective methods of accomplishing the department's mission are used within the framework of governing directives and objectives outlined by higher authority.
You will assign and coordinate special projects, give advice, counsel, and instruction to subordinates, and monitor and evaluate employee performance.
