Job Description:

You will serve as an ENGINEER in the SURFACE COMBATANT RADAR DIVISION, SENSORS WEAPONS AND LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer providing electronics engineering expertise and guidance on the design, configuration, testing, and evaluation of shipboard combat systems to identify and resolve system issues for warfare engineering projects. You will serve as AEGIS AN/SPY-1D(v) Radar Transmitter Team Lead.
You will provide technical services involved with the execution of work assignments pertaining to significant tasks within complex project-oriented in-service technical support services in U.S. and allied ships and/or shore facilities.
You will provide technical/consultative services and training during Installation, and check out, Integration tests, certifications, or other test and evaluation efforts.
You will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development acquisition and/or in-service technical support for assigned equipment.
You will evaluate technical performance up to and including the system level of equipment related to hardware reliability, operation, performance, and/or maintainability problems.
