Job Description:

This position is located in the Chief Administrative Office (CAO), Workforce Management Analysis Team in Washington, DC. As the Director for Workforce Management and Analysis you will be responsible for providing analytical support the CAO and the Executive Committee to help make informed decisions on a variety of agency-wide human capital programs, budget, and administrative operations that affect all facets of the Government Accountability Office.
One year (52 Weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the NEXT LOWER BAND, MS-I, PT III, or GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. Specialized experience requirements are below. - Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to assess program effectiveness. - Preparing briefs for senior management on program execution, conducting data analysis, and providing recommendations on administrative program goals and objectives - Resolving changing program objectives and program requirements resulting from shifts in agency/office priorities and/or congressional requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As the Director of Workforce Management and Analysis, MS-0343-II, your typical work assignments may include the following: Provides expert guidance and strategic support to GAO's executive and senior managers on a broad range of workforce and staffing matters. Oversees and manages the GAO's strategic workforce planning program. Identifies workforce resources needed to effectively meet agency goals. Develops, implements, and maintains the GAO workforce plans. Collaborates with all GAO leadership on manpower allocations, demographics, budget scenario planning and FTE/staffing level management. Manages GAO exit and employee preference survey programs. Provides strategic support to all GAO teams and offices on a broad range of workforce and staffing matters. Directs a team of analysts and specialists who perform sensitive analytical work in the collection and analysis of Full Time Equivalent (FTE) and other workforce data components. Serves as the Designated Performance Manager (DPM) and directs the work of subordinate staff.
