Job Description:

This position serves as a Clinical Psychologist within the Behavioral Health Program in the Pine Ridge Service Unit in Pine Ridge, SD. The incumbent provides clinical mental health and psychological services. The position provides services for a full range of community health programs and emergency mental health services throughout the service unit. The position reports to the Director of Behavioral Health. Recruitment or Relocation Incentive Authorized with applicable service agreement.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Doctoral degree directly related to full professional work in Clinical Psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: experience in a mental health setting clinic or hospital while providing psychological evaluations, assessments and follow ups. Performs referral, intake, diagnostic, treatment, and crisis invention and consultation service for mental health patients. Selective Placement Factor License: Ability to independently provide direct services to patients as evidenced by a current, valid, active, unrestricted license, as a Clinical Psychologist in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements by the respective cut-off date for application review.
Provides psychological care and consultation services to patients of the Pine Ridge Service Unit as a clinician. Represents the Behavior Health Department in outreach to other IHS departments and the Pine Ridge Community Administers, interprets, and generates recommendations from psychological tests/test batteries. Provides clinical psychology training and consultation to entities within the facility and communities as assigned. Works in a regularly assigned, rotation or call back basis to provide continuity of medical services during evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
