The incumbent will have full responsibility for the supervision of the employees assigned to the Linen/Uniform Section of the Environmental Management Services (EMS) and will be responsible for the total operation of this section including work performed, methods, quality and quantity of work, establishing and maintaining linen quotas. Supervises the collection of soiled linen and delivery of clean linen.

Major Duties: Responsible for supervising 11 WG-02 Laundry Workers, 2 WG-05 Sewing Machine Operators and 1 WG-05 Motor Vehicle Operator in the Linen/Uniform Section of the Environmental Management Service (EMS) and is responsible for the total operation of this section including work performed, methods, quality and quantity of work, establishing and maintaining linen quotas. Supervises collection of soiled linen and delivery of clean linen. Incumbent has full responsibility for these duties covering the VA North Texas Healthcare System, Dallas, TX. Maintain all records necessary for accountability and statistical records for preparation of reports for EMS Leadership. Maintains linen, uniform and supply inventory records and uses these records to recommend purchases of employee uniforms, indigent clothing or supplies, marking and mending supplies, etc., to the EMS Leadership. Maintain the linen distribution accountability tracking database. Maintains accountability and security of textile, linen and uniforms. Identify problem areas in the administration of the Linen/Uniform Patient Assistance Program and creates reports. Recommends and assists in conducting linen usage reviews, linen inventories, and ward quota revisions. Identifies and recommends corrective action in the problem areas to the Chief, Environmental Management Service. Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Rotating Weekends and Holidays Position Description Title/PD#: Laundry Worker Supervisor/PD09394O Physical Requirements: Required to work continuously on concrete or tiled flooring. May be required to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, stooping and bending. Must be able to climb ladders, move heavily loaded carts and work in congested areas.
