This vacancy is for a GS-2010-12, Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SFLC LONG RANGE ENFORCER PRODUCT LINE -SFLC-LRE.
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Managing a staff of workers performing technical, intensive, integrated management of material encompassing one or more groups of classes of items such as major items - military and commercial, secondary items, repair parts maintenance components, tools sets, and public issue item assemblies. Reviewing reports, plans and schedules to determine material support requirements Controlling the issue and return of repairable major components/subassemblies, schdeuling repairs, and monitoring the repairs. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. You will serve as aSupervisory Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for serving as Section Chief, directing and coordinating the material support provided by the section, and managing all supply chain management functions for assigned systems and equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Supporting development of Division/Branch/Section policies and procedures related to material support and supply chain management. Organizing assigned programs into projects; issuing guidance instructions; assigning work; approving travel; granting leave; evaluating performance of employees. Determining requirements, material distribution, positioning/repositioning items, funds management, procurement authorization, as well as providing life cycle support for repairable and consumable assigned commodities. Managing supply system initiations of procurements for new major equipment or subsystems based on extensive analysis of plans, schedules and production and/or procurement lead times. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.
