Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is recruiting for Seasonal Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-9. This position is temporary, seasonal NTE 1039-hour appointments. The defined season is from November 2025 through May 2026.

The major duties of the Maintenance Mechanic, include but are not limited to the following: Perform a variety of preventive maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and other related trades required in maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, fixtures, and related property. Perform plumbing work involving maintenance and repair of a wide variety of piping, plumbing fixtures (lavatories, commodes, sink, disposals, bathtubs and shower fixtures). Makes electrical repairs by removing and replacing defective parts such as incandescent and fluorescent fixtures, receptacles, switches, pull chains, covers, ballasts, starters, sockets, door ball buttons, transformers, and other items related to the installed system. Determine materials and tools needed to perform routine maintenance and repairs to facilities, structures, equipment and related fixtures.
