About the Position: This position is located at Camp Lejeune, NC Facilities Maintenance Division.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Examining maintenance needs; servicing industrial and/or commercial equipment; and performing repair work on buildings - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort: The incumbent is required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, and occasionally work in uncomfortable positions for short periods of time. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up material that weighs 15 pounds and occasionally handles materials and equipment that weighs 40 pounds and over. Working Conditions: Work assignments are conducted both inside and outside and the employee is subject to cuts and bruises and occasional falls. Unpleasant odors maybe encountered from various working environment. The employee is required to wear appropriate safety clothing.
Use hand or power tools to perform minor maintenance and repairs.
Perform operational checks on maintenance equipment.
Perform maintenance work involving trades, such as roofing, asphalt work, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and cement work.
Performs routine maintenance, overhaul, and repair of standard types of mechanical locking devices such as mortise, rim, key-in-the-knob, deadbolt, office equipment, padlocks, and emergency exit locks.
Perform operational tests to determine need for repair of building structures, fixtures, and utilities.
Use precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices to perform routine maintenance tasks.
Prepare materials according to direction.
Review blueprints, repair manuals, and/or parts catalogs to perform maintenance tasks.
