To qualify for an Equal Employment Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Studying and evaluating new and complex legislation, public laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to EEO. Established working relationships with EEOC, national civil rights organizations and/or other professional affiliations related to EEO and Diversity initiatives. Utilizing statistical analysis to identify barriers and monitor progress towards goals. Coordinating/or assisting with a Disabilities Program and its related activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serves as a Senior Staff Equal Employment Specialist in the Affirmative Employment Program/Diversity Division, responsible for developing and administering Agency Diversity and Inclusion programs.
Serves as the Disabilities Program Manager (DPM) for DLA DO-D; responsible for coordinating Disabilities Program activities throughout the agency, evaluating the progress at lower organizational levels.
Participates in the selection and training of coordinators for the Disabilities Program.
Implements and evaluates the effectiveness of the Agency’s Affirmative Employment Program (AEP) and all associated reports for the approval of the EEO Director.
Manages and develops the Agency’s annual Management Directive 715 (MD-715) as required by OPM and EEOC, and diversity program initiatives.
Conducts special emphasis barrier analysis; research, analyze and develop special reports, studies, projects, briefings, etc. for EEO related functions and formulates policy/directives to rectify problems and facilitate program improvements.
Prepares/develops monthly reports, Recruitment and Annual Operating Plans and scorecard metrics.
