Job Description:

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for providing pilot expertise, evaluation of unconventional and distinct C-12 fixed wing aircraft with sophisticated systems, and oversight of programs involving these aircraft in worldwide agency operations.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: I have a current Commercial Pilot Certificate or the appropriate military rating. Additionally, I have the FAA Flight Instructor Certificate or the military equivalent rating. (The pilot certificate must include the rating(s) appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. Note: Candidates establishing eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official orders, forms, or logbooks showing their status as a rated military pilot, flight instructor, or flight examiner, as appropriate. Other certificates that meet or exceed the requirements of the Commercial Pilot Certificate are also acceptable, e.g., an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate) I have at least 1500 Total Flight Hours; 250 Pilot-In-Command Hours; 75 Night Flying Hours; 500 Instructor Time Flight Hours; and I have at least 100 Flying Hours in the past 12 months. NOTE: You must submit proof of Flight Hours. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a TEST PILOT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR at the GS-2181-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides ground and flight instruction and in-flight evaluation in the piloting of specifically modified C-12 aircraft, which involves a substantial degree of hazard requiring the incumbent to be knowledgeable and skilled in conducting approval tests to ensure pilots are safely trained. Prepares narrative statement for budget submissions on aircraft operations, maintenance support, and test and evaluation. Conducts staff assistance visits to provide additional training or evaluate performance at locations where DSCA and/or the Geographic Combatant Commands (GCCs) determine that assistance is required. Serves as the Standardization and Evaluation officer to ensure that pilot and maintenance publications, documents, and flight equipment are standardized for all C-12 aircraft locations supporting global Security Cooperation Organization operations.
