To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist (Chemicals), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Demonstrating expert-level knowledge of military/federal/commercial fuel specifications and test methods in order to advise, negotiate, and justify requirements to internal and external business unit. Experience with providing staff guidance and technical direction to Region Commanders and/or Region Quality Managers. Implementing policy development, training development, and automation systems for Energy fuel related products. Employing strategic understanding in the analysis and technical oversight in quality assurance programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Provides specialized policy, training, audit, and automations support to DLA as it pertains to Quality Assurance/Quality Surveillance (QA/QS).
Determines, develops, and tailors QA/QS policy and training to meet the needs of DLA Energy Quality Technical Directorate in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, and DLAI 4155.04.
Serves as the QA Intern subject matter expert for DLA Energy Quality Assurance community.
Serves as the OJT Trainer as outlined in the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) program Plan of Development. Provides mentorship, training, and evaluation for selected individuals that are enrolled in the PaCE program.
Oversees Quality-related training to establish, implement and provide training programs that will enhance knowledge and skillsets for the organization.
Provides oversight of the Quality Developmental Program, coordinating with J1 and/or J3 in reviewing, selecting, onboarding and execution of the complete training program for Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) trainees and certifying QASs.
Uses ingenuity to devise and plan strategies to update, streamline, and develop new innovative training programs for the Quality workforce.
