This position is located at Departmental Offices, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Human Resources (DASHR) - Office of DC Pensions. As an Assistant Director - IT Systems Administration, you will be a senior member of the Office of D.C. Pensions' team and manage a wide range of complex professional and management areas; with particular focus on information technology systems administration for meeting the office program and operational goals
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Serving in a senior or leadership role responsible for successfully delivering a major IT project; AND - Designed and implemented policies or organizational procedures. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
As an Assistant Director - IT Systems Administration, you will: Provide expert technical and operational advice to the Director, staff and senior officials of the Department of the Treasury and the District of Columbia Government on all aspects of information technology systems administration of the D.C. Pensions Program. Develop policies, manage operational activities, and provide oversight in the following areas: operation of a large-scale cloud based Oracle PeopleSoft retirement system, maintenance of the system using the full development life-cycle approach, system risks to the benefit operations, system upgrades, calculations of benefits and payments to annuitants, system security, FISMA requirements, memorandums of understanding, quality review of IT operations, service level agreements with service providers, annual audits, and the annual report. Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities for information technology systems administration staff and developmental positions. Provide oversight of the system service providers operations and collaborate to assist in the delivery of timely and accurate benefit payments to annuitants and to promote responsive customer service.
