BACHELORS DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position AND THREE YEARS of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Demonstrated skill to independently train, review, and analyze effectiveness of training. Must be able to train curricula which do not require professional licensure, but may require specialized education and or experience. Such functions include teaching, facilitating educationally-based groups or programs (where no clinical interpretation of behavioral health is made), administrative functions, or providing generally available information to groups or individuals. Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; ability to develop quality training; ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all levels of employees and command, both inside and outside the organization; knowledge of military structure and protocol; ability to exercise initiative in resolving problems, rendering decisions, and carrying out revisions to plans; ability to work effectively with others, to supervise, to facilitate, to run meetings, and to take charge and direct an event when necessary; knowledge of community resources for Marines and their families; ability to analyze data and present logical conclusions and recommendations; ability to utilize all Microsoft applications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under the age of 18.
Serve as the designated trainer for all MCFTB curricula RDS, L.I.N.K.S., LifeSkills, and UPFRP as directed by the MCFTB Director. Plan, schedule, and deliver installation-wide and unit-specific training for Marines, Sailors, families, Family Readiness Command Teams, DRCs, URCs, and UPFRP volunteers. Develop and conduct LifeSkills training on everyday challenges, the mobile military lifestyle, and deployment tempo using HQMC/MF/M&RA templates; equip participants with protective-factor awareness and practical skills. Coordinate and present L.I.N.K.S. per HQMC/MCFTB templates, covering Marine Corps history, pay, community involvement, relocations, and other key topics. Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer L.I.N.K.S. mentors; document training/service hours; coordinate meetings and professional development; recognize volunteers per CMC (MF) guidelines. Provide standardized UPFRP instruction to command teams, DRCs, URCs, and volunteers; deliver systems training on approved communication tools; add local resource info; offer information and referral support. Coordinate and deliver RDS modules pre-deployment, mid-deployment, return & reunion, and post-deployment using HQMC/MCFTB templates; develop local-resource supplements; assist with family-readiness referrals. Maintain professional knowledge of adult-learning and curriculum development; recommend content changes to HQMC/MCFTB for unit/area needs. Lead marketing and promotion of trainings; maintain communication with MCCS, Marine & Family Programs, Chaplains, commanders, DRCs, URCs, volunteers, and community partners to maximize participation. Implement evaluation measures (demographics, attendance, satisfaction, performance metrics); compile and submit reports/analyses to HQMC/MCFTB. Analyze program challenges by identifying factors, gathering information, and proposing solutions/best practices; communicate findings and recommendations to MCFTB leadership. Attend Welcome Aboard briefs, all-hands functions, and public events to promote programs, recruit participants/volunteers, and strengthen partnerships. In designated locations, oversee the Volunteer Management Program: set mission/vision/goals/objectives; manage recruitment, screening, placement, training, evaluation, tracking, and recognition; coordinate with installation volunteer coordinators, ambassadors, community agencies, and PAO for awareness campaigns and ceremonies. Maintain accurate program records (session length, participant demographics, evaluation results) and submit required documentation to HQMC/MCFTB. Perform other duties as assigned.
