Job Description:

You will serve as a Medical Supply Technician in the Sterile Processing and Distribution Division (SPD) of the NAV POSTGRADUATE DENTAL SCHOOL. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. For GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Experience with governing policy and regulations pertaining to Sterile Processing of surgical instruments. Experience in infection control, aseptic principles and techniques. Experience operating and retrieving data utilizing automated tracking and personal computer systems. Experience with hospital and clinic layout and operations. You will decontaminate, prepare, inspect, sterilize, maintain, store, and issue equipment and supplies to all direct patient care areas.
You will serve as the Senior Tech, or only Sterile Processing and Distribution Division (SPD) employee on a night or weekend shift.
You will decontaminate a full range of instruments and sets.
You will operate various kinds of equipment, such as, but not limited to, cart washers, ultra-sonic cleaner, washer -sterilizers, washer-decontaminator, and steam sterilizers.
