THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD2169P01 and is part of the TN 134th ARW, Air National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.
Military Grades: O-1 through O-4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 36 months experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, GS-0346-12, you will exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Select or recommend selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO objectives. Provide technical advice and assistance to wing leadership on business processes and performance and efficiency of logistics readiness functions of the squadron /flight as it impacts the Wing. Provide technical oversight for squadron/flight plans, goals and standards for readiness and performance capabilities of the squadron/flight on. Manage and perform work for providing training, resources, and systems to ensure the efficient and effective operation of installation deployment processes. Develop new approaches related to logistics workforce readiness to better support logistics services, systems and products. Ensure proper identification of AEF taskings, unit assessments of readiness capabilities (e.g. SORTS), limiting factors, common expeditionary skills training, storage and inspection of unit readiness programs. As the squadron/flight technical advisor on logistics readiness and AEF issues, perform/lead studies, and provides technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of readiness mission capabilities. Represent the wing regarding logistics readiness issues at meetings within the organization and at conferences with JFHQ-State, USPFO, NG, MAJCOM, HQ USAF, DoD, and other agencies. Plan, organize, and maintain oversight of the activities of the Logistics Readiness Squadron/flight, ensuring the planning efforts and work products and services of all the squadron/flight functions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
