Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the G-F, Installations and Environment Department of MCIEAST-MARINE CORPS BASE LEJEUNE. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing, establishing, coordinating and maintaining an integrated system; Reviewing and interpreting facilities, housing and environmental guidance; Formulating and directing the provision of a complete, integrated professional engineering and architectural services program; Defining and justifying program requirements; Advising, counseling, or instructing employees on work and administrative matter. You will oversee all engineering consulting actions, design management, facilities planning, master planning, and community development responsibilities for professional engineers and architects.
You will be responsible for regional planning, execution, oversight, and coordination of natural resources and environmental management programs.
You will exercise delegated authority to oversee regional housing programs to include barracks management and oversight of family housing Public Private Ventures.
You will approve multi-year plans developed by G-F Divisions and Regional Program Managers and oversee the development and revision of long-range plans, goals and objectives of the department.
You will provide guidance and strategic direction for the overall Facilities Management system, environmental program, and base support functions.
You will be responsible for preparing department program and budget submissions and execution.
You will exercise first level supervision over the daily activities of full time staff assigned to carry out the operations of the department.
You will hear and resolve complaints from employees, effects minor disciplinary measures, and develop performance standards.
