The position is located at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, AZ. This position serves as the Director of Social Services and reports directly to the Health System Administrator (Director of Professional Services). The Incumbent also serves as the a licensed independent practitioner of clinical Social Work that provides a broad range of direct social worker services to individuals and families.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Providing integrated comprehensive mental health and social services to ambulatory care patients. Plans and organizes work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts long and short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: License to practice clinical social work independently in any of the 50 State or US Territories, i.e., Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW); or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW); or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Participates in the development and implementation of both long and short term policies and plans for the healthcare delivery system giving special consideration to the integration of internal administrative, clinical and community health policies, with the standards and requirements of various regulatory and accrediting bodies and to the impact of internal policies on outside entities such as other Area hospitals and the community at large. Participate in hospital discharge planning, case staffing and teaching conferences with health care providers, as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely records of all patient contacts, following Joint Commission standards, service unit and social services policies and procedures; prepares case histories, summaries and correspondence according to department and service unit established format.
