You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Ordnance Handling Branch, Ordnance Operations Division of NMC CWD DET SB/FALLBROOK ANNEX. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will inspect, inventory, segregate, and stow material in accordance with current instructions.
You will work with the Logistics Support Team in reconciling discrepancies in inventory.
You will adhere to all environmental instructions as directed by supervisor/leader and promptly report potential non-compliance and assist in taking corrective action.
You will inspect Materials Handling Equipment and Ordnance Handling Equipment for required safety standards prior to use.
You will safely operate mechanized equipment including utility vehicles, standard size forklifts, and optical barcode scanners/equipment.
You will load and unload materials, check, assemble, and process documents and route materials and equipment to correct location using warehouse plans and procedures.
You will ensure that all program control procedures are followed when working with hazardous materials such as paint and industrial solvents of a toxic nature.
You will ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets are available in the work area for reference by the worker.
