Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as security specialist, to implement and administer the Center's Program Protection and Information Security programs to protect USAF weapon systems from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to USAF mission interests, national defense or national security and act as the AFNWC risk management and mitigation specialist.
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in assisting with responsibilities to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense and national security providing security program functions; participate in the administration and implementation of the Industrial, Information, Personnel, Physical and OPSEC security programs to meet the mission and improve the security programs. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative. This certification requirement only applies to employees assigned to an indexed CPD or SCPD position on or after 14 March 2016. Incumbent employees assigned on or before 13 March 2016 are not required to obtain the DoD certification(s) listed above. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Mastery knowledge of information security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze, and resolve issues. Expert knowledge in analytical theories, processes, programs and practices Sophisticated understanding and skill in applying broad or in-depth expertise in highly complex and ambiguous situations. Knowledge of government contractual practices and requirements for development and purchase of aerospace weapon systems. Must be familiar with civilian industrial organization, operations, and management Ability to plan, organize work, and meets deadlines. Strong writing and oral communication skills to inform and persuade. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Integrate security and information protection functions and processes within the Center enterprise and develops managed business process solutions to address risks and interdependencies. Represent organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations.
