Job Description:

You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the EMERGENCY PLANNING DIVISION of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying emergency management principles to analyze and develop plans in preparation and response for environmental disasters caused by natural or man-made hazards, to reduce the loss of life and property. You will provide advice, coordination, training and logistical support for emergency planning, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery operations.
You will manage, direct, coordinate and implement the Command Emergency Management Program and ensures compliance with higher authority directives.
You will plan develop, coordinate and conduct emergency management drills/exercises, and training programs.
You will plan and conduct preparedness activities to enhance the ability of employees and tenants to respond to emergencies.
You will develop new and/or updated contingency plan, goals and objectives to ensure operational readiness for future implementation when responding to actual accidents, incidents, or other emergencies.
You will inspect and certify that EM plans with the AOR (Area of Responsibility) are current and accurate.
You will coordinate with outside contacts to discuss development and execution of plan, and to exchange and gain information to resolve problems.
You will prepare for, respond to, and recover from major emergencies natural or man-made.
You may collaborate with members of the Installation staff, Commanders, other Navy Commands outside the installation complex, or DoD agencies, employees of their federal, State and local governments and in some case, private enterprise.
You will identify problems and recommend solutions to improve emergency response plans and actions.
