You will serve as a SUPV ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year specialized of experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical guidance and recommending solutions to ensure effective installation, maintenance, repair or operations of shipboard auxiliary systems and equipment. You will receive requests for technical assistance from internal and external customers and determine which requests can be accomplished in house and establish priorities for accomplishment.
You will plan work and assign task to subordinates within their areas of specialization, indicating general nature of problem and priority in relation to other tasks.
You will investigate, analyze, recommend and execute corrective action for problems pertaining to installation, maintenance, repair and operation of assigned shipboard systems installed onboard ships.
You will review reports prepared by technical personnel to ensure compliance with administrative and procedural requirements and to assure technical adequacy/accuracy of recommendations.
You will manage branch finances to ensure proper utilization and preclude over expenditures.
You will represent SWRMC conferences and seminars concerning maintenance policies and program initiatives for systems within the cognizance of the Branch.
