Job Description:

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the NAVAL RESERVE OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS (NROTC) UNITS and STRATEGIC SEALIFT MIDSHIPMAN PROGRAM (SSMP) UNITS within the NSTC Domain of DPTNAVSCI GREAT LAKES MARITIME ACADEMY.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing and applying knowledge of personnel policies to advise staff on various processes and entitlements; 2) Entering data into automated database systems; 3) Reviewing documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines; 4) Utilizing office automation equipment and software in order to prepare a variety of forms and correspondence. You will manage the administrative activities of the NROTC or SMM Programs.
You will plan, develop and implement procedures for administrative data collection and advises Unit staff on correct procedures.
You will act as primary representative of the Commanding Officer in dealing with the host educational institution (university, college, institute, academy, etc.) any cross- town educational institutions, parents, and outside agencies.
You will conduct administrative orientation briefs for new students.
You will maintain all student records, files, and collect data required in administering all aspects of the NROTC program.
