Job Description:

You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, STRUCTURES DIVISION, TACTICAL AIRCRAFT STRENGTH BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing, formulating, and administering structural engineering requirements to be embodied in technical criteria and documentation tactical aircraft programs; 2) Assessing the operational risk posed by airframe structural problems and providing solution options and recommendations to the Program Office for risk mitigation; 3) Establishing and executing plans, programs, policies, and procedures governing all structures engineering for the air vehicle; and 4) Specifying proper structural integrity criteria and ensuring compliance. You will develop structural engineering requirements to be embodied in technical criteria and documentation governing aircraft design, analysis, test and operation to ensure that engineering requirements are consistent with policies and guidelines.
You will coordinate airframe engineering efforts including disciplines of Strength, Durability and Damage Tolerance, Flight and Ground Loads, Materials Science, Structural Dynamics and Life Surveillance in support of program goals and priorities.
You will act as a focal point for both the Competency and the Program Office on airframe issues.
You will evaluate proposed structural designs and airframe development programs in support of source selection efforts.
You will identify structural integrity problems arising during the development of new aircraft or modification of flight test and fleet introduction aircraft and establishes the optimal approach to solving these problems.
