As a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist, you will provides technical leadership and ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availabilityof systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of Information Systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools for DeCA. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) security advisor to the DeCACybersecurity Director
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2210 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying experience include: Conducts continual evaluations of agency business needs and designs technical solutions in support to ensure enterprise architecture plans are aligned with current IT infrastructure. Provides expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical issues. Applies new developments, practices, and approaches to previously unsolvable problems. Make decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important Agency technical policies or programs related to EA governance requirements. Physical requirements: Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry light items such as papers, books, or small parts. The work does not require any special physical effort. Work environment: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to uncomfortable conditions in such places as research and production facilities. Responsible for administering and enforcing policies and strategies DeCA's Agency/Enterprise-wide Cybersecurity Program through the management of DeCA IT Cybersecurity Divisional Office(s) in support of the DeCA Cybersecurity Directorate. implementation of policies and procedures to ensure Information Systems (IS) reliability and accessibility. Prevents and defends against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. Develop DeCA policy and implements procedures and techniques for security stress testing of IT systems and communications systems. Promotes awareness of security issues among management and ensures sound security principles are reflected in the DeCA's visions and goals, Provides decision support to the Director of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Officer (CIO) on cyber defense matters that includes, but is not limited to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) insertion points; Enterprise Architecture integration; and enterprise security.
