Job Description:
You will serve as a Lead Engineer Technician in the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing construction reviews of plans and specifications for technical soundness and practicability; 2) Applying engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties with the design, layout, quality control, of construction operations; 3) Preparing technical analysis, cost estimates, and reviews engineering designs for proposed changes; 4) Providing mentoring to assigned staff and junior engineers; and maintain credibility with others on technical matters; 5) Using automation technology and practices essential for accomplishment of engineering technician work, i.e., web-based construction management operations, construction project schedule interpretation, web-based construction standards research. You will provide technical advice and training to the team in matters of construction management, quality assurance, testing of critical systems, and safety.
You will develop annual training plans for the Engineering Technician community and makes recommendations to the Construction Product Line Coordinator.
You will provide written reports or briefs to document site investigations or findings related to performance testing of facility systems or evaluation of contractor or government Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Safety performance.
You will serve as the Senior Engineering Technician and is a central point of contact within the CIBL Construction Product Line on all technical issues involving quality and safety on construction projects.
You will train and mentor fellow Engineering Technicians and contractor Quality Control (QC) personnel in specific tasks, job techniques and processes.
