Job Description:
You will serve as a CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PLANNING, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION DIRECTORATE of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) overseeing a wide variety of functions to monitor and maintain progress, and ensure safe, high quality and timely completion of construction contracts within the approved project budget. 2) enforcing contract compliance with all contractual requirements regarding project delivery, project schedules, and time and cost management. 3) implementing of the government Quality Assurance (QA) Program; 4) conducting QA/QC coordination meetings, review and management of contractor performance through regular field surveillance and daily documentation procedures. 5) working with customers, contractors, designers, quality assurance, and NAVFAC personnel to determine appropriate direction and/or changes necessary to the contracts to provide the customer with fully functional facilities. You will manage multiple priorities and provide technical recommendations/solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of construction and support contracts.
You will manage the contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensuring timely responses.
You will utilize knowledge of construction safety principles and practices in administration of assigned projects to mitigate any safety incidents on projects.
You will assist in negotiation of contract modifications to the extent possible and within designated thresholds under the direction of the Contracting Officer to ensure the most fair and reasonable cost is determined.
