Job Description:
This position is located within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Eastern Command (AOEC) in Oak Ridge, TN. A successful candidate in this position will lead a team of highly specialized protective forces, responsible for the safe and secure transportation of classified and/or hazardous nuclear materials.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the federal service, i.e., NV-02 or GS-11. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: systems level technical expertise on the functional requirements, capabilities, and operations of multiple security, safety, emergency management, and communications systems employed in the safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons, nuclear weapons components, and special nuclear materials. Examples of Specialized Experience: -Inspection, testing, and operation of complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices. -Inspection of shipment vehicles and cargo configuration and tie-downs. -Developing and leading tactical responses to specific threats Your application and resume should demonstrate that you possess the following competencies. As a Lead Nuclear Materials Courier, you will: Serve as a member of a Special Response Force (SRF) team tasked with leading the pursuit and recovery of cargo unlawfully removed from an Office of Secure Transportation (OST) shipment's custody and control. Lead all Nuclear Material Courier personnel on specific transportation missions (convoys) ensuring the safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons, nuclear weapon components, and/or special nuclear material. Identify and obtains resources needed to accomplish individual mission requirements, and develops and executes operational, security, and tactical plans for assigned convoys. Direct and coordinates the work of all agents while on mission operations, assesses employee competencies, and recommends training as necessary to ensure that staff capabilities are consistent with mission requirements.
