This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as a Social Worker for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker: Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Manages behavioral health services by directing clinical operations, developing policies, and coordinating care to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Plans, develops, and directs behavioral health programs across multiple units or locations, including mental health and family counseling services; Oversees complex or high-risk caseloads that exceed the routine capabilities of other clinical staff; Executes program objectives by independently planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives to achieve organizational goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
Direct the commands behavioral health program across 15 subordinate units.
Develop policies and strategies aligned with directives.
Allocate and manage resources to meet enterprise behavioral health needs.
Deliver advanced clinical care for high risk and complex cases
Conduct specialized assessments to support operational readiness.
Ensure all treatments meet organizational standards.
Lead and evaluate behavioral health staff performance.
Assign workloads and manage staffing across the enterprise.
Maintain licensure and credentialing compliance for all providers.
Advise senior leaders on behavioral health readiness and risk.
Brief commanders on trends affecting force resilience.
Coordinate enterprise initiatives with higher headquarters and partners.
