This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST - Title 32, Position Description Number D1722000 and is part of the WI 115 MDG, Wisconsin Air National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Work that required a knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of a health care delivery system. Such experience may have been gained as an administrative officer, management analyst, or administrative or clinical program manager or supervisor in a health care delivery system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0671-09 level, you must have 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7 level. Candidate is progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
As a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST - Title 32, GS-0671-9, you will to serve as the full-time Health Systems Specialist for the installation, geographically separated units (GSU(s), and tenant units, with responsibility for managing all medical administrative functions including medical support, medical operations, force health management and related medical applications. MAJOR DUTIES: (1) Manages Health Services activities, including plans and operations, human resource management, and Medical staffing. Oversees medical facility management. (2) Provides medical management and advisory services that contribute substantially to the plans, policies, decisions, and objectives of senior management. (3) Develops plans, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for the overall operation of the Medical Group. (4) Directs the Medical Group accreditation program and management improvement studies. (5) Determines eligibility, authorizes and coordinates civilian and military medical care for Active Guard Reserve (AGR) personnel and other eligible beneficiaries in accordance with directives and local policies.
