About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Network -Central, or Network 4, team. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas. The position serves as a Medical Records Administrative Specialist Coding Auditor for the Network servicing area, performing in-depth audits and develops detailed training programs related to medical coding and documentation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) auditing medical codes to identify deficiencies: 2) researching regulations to identify impact to coding processes, and 3) identifying codes to record medical scenarios. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Planning and Evaluating Program Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Maintain coding compliance against National and Department of Defense coding guidelines.
Develop corrective action plans to resolve documentation discrepancies or errors.
Present written reports for medical coding audit results.
Coordinate long-range plans for implementation within the Network of Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
Develop training on coding training for Military Treatment/Medical Facilities.
Perform in-depth audits of medical coding actions.
