To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying the full range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the quality assurance functional programs. Establishing process measurement points and statistical techniques/methods to measure, analyze, and continuously improve the process. Applying process-related practices, methods, and techniques such as statistical analysis, control and sampling, process proofing, and quality data analysis in order to evaluate government and contractor data and determine contractor compliance with many aspects of quality control. Performing investigations of defective material for cause and corrective action and initiate process improvements with the contractor as needed.
Serves as the Contract Management Office (CMO) focal point providing senior technical assistance and guidance to the operations Group team members regarding complex problems in the quality control area.
Provides technical interpretation and implementation of procedures on applicable requirements.
Determines the need for and develops procedural guidelines.
Investigates the need for and feasibility of changes to establish procedures and devises revisions to alleviate problem areas.
Assesses and reports adherence to strategies/procedures and recommends adjustments or independently implements improvements.
Determines the impact on current and/or future quality function operations and plans/prepares necessary implementing directives.
Provides information and on-the-job training for team quality assurance personnel including refresher courses, new directives and policy, new/changed databases and lessons learned.
