This position is part of the Library Services and Content Management, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Content Acquisitions Specialist, PG - 0301 - 9, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-7 level in the Federal Service that includes: 1) Reviewing acquisitions information for current and potential publications; and 2) maintaining administrative record systems, including entering data into an Integrated Library System (ILS). OR Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of experience and education: Applicants have the specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have more than one year but less than the required education as described above. Applicants have computed the percentage of the requirements that are met, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours minus 18 by 18. Add the two percentages). The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (09/02/2025) to be considered.
Makes routine ride and formatting decisions appropriate to the requirements of GPO Information Dissemination programs.
Maintains familiarity with the needs of the libraries, federal agencies, and other organizations served by GPO Information Dissemination programs.
Maintains awareness of GPO business units activities, offerings, and processes; works together to acquire routine materials and resolve routine issues related to content acquisitions as directed.
Works with Library Services and Content Management (LSCM) personnel to support workflows and resolve common issues related to the identification, classification, and processing of publications acquired for GPO Information Dissemination programs.
Reviews acquisitions information for current and potential publications.
