To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience administering a Drug-Free Workplace Urinalysis Testing Program. Experience analyzing various drug and alcohol testing programs and operations, organizational structures, and policies to ensure effective management of resources. Experience establishing, implementing, and evaluating policy and procedures for the administration of the drug and alcohol program. Experience reviewing administrative procedures for compliance with policies and regulations relating to organizational procedures, management controls, and utilization of drug and alcohol testing programs. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
Responsible for establishing and implementing all changes in policy regarding the Bureau of Prisons’ Federal Drug-Free Workplace Program, and the Bureau of Prisons’ drug and alcohol testing of commercial drivers. Reviews administrative procedures for compliance with Bureau of Prisons’ regulations and policies relating to organizational procedures, management controls, and utilization of the drug and alcohol testing program. Develops manuals to guide Health Services specimen collectors in the field, local coordinators for the commercial driver testing program, and Human Resource staff in the use of the computer software used for transmitting and receiving drug testing information. Trains and teaches the Bureau’s drug testing policies to field and Central Office line, supervisory, and managerial staff, and the Bureau’s Executive Staff.
