The Office of Investigative & Market Analytics (IMA) within the Division of Enforcement is hiring an SK-0905-17 Supervisory General Attorney in Washington, DC. This announcement is open to current SEC employees in the Division of Enforcement only.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. BASIC REQUIREMENT: All applicants must possess the following J.D. or LL.B. degree --AND-- Active membership of the bar in good standing in any state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. (Note: proof of bar membership will be required before entry on duty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement. SK-17: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14level. Specialized experience includes: Conducting enforcement investigations or litigation and making recommendations for enforcement actions to the Commission; AND Planning, organizing, and coordinating enforcement projects or initiatives relating to Enforcement investigations, policies or processes; AND Developing strategic resolutions to problems or obstacles that may arise in the course of an enforcement investigation or litigation
If selected, you will serve as a Supervisory General Attorney in the Office of Investigative & Market Analytics (IMA) within the Division of Enforcement. IMA is comprised of investigative specialists that provide expertise and assistance on cases across the entire Division; the group performs a variety of customized data and trading analytics, data sourcing, consultation services, and research for ENF investigations, litigation, and initiatives. Primary duties include: Leading the IMA and overseeing its staff; Receiving, assigning, tracking, and responding to requests for assistance from case teams across ENF; Determining the scope of work and resource allocation for IMA; Consulting on cases, including by advising teams as to what data and tools are available and how IMA can assist; Reviewing the work product of the IMA staff; Serving as a technical advisor with the Python Working Group, the ENF Data Tools Group, the Emerging Tech Working Group, and the CAT User Working Group, and advising case teams on the sharing protocols for Blue Sheet and Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) data; Assessing ENF data analytics capabilities and tools to improve the Division's efficiency; Briefing Division leadership regarding the work of IMA; and Performing related administrative functions (e.g., time and leave requests).
